Jean-Paul Mirenge Remezo “JP”
Senior Guide
About
Jean-Paul, our head guide, multilingual expert and passionate host grew up in the Kisoro region in Southwestern Uganda, near the misty peaks of the Virunga Volcanoes and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Today, he lives in Entebbe with his wife and two young children, where he balances his love for nature with a rich family life.
Jean-Paul’s interest in wildlife, culture, and travel began early. He started working in the tourism industry in the early 2000s and joined Wild Frontiers in 2007, bringing with him five years of prior experience. Over the years, he has grown into the position of Head Guide, where he not only leads safaris across Uganda but also supports and mentors fellow guides with warmth and professionalism.
Known for his kindness, patience, and genuine passion for Uganda’s landscapes and wildlife, Jean-Paul is a favorite among guests and colleagues alike. His ability to speak English, Swahili, and French fluently makes him particularly well-suited for hosting a wide range of international travelers.
Whether guiding gorilla treks, wildlife safaris, or cultural experiences, Jean-Paul’s deep local knowledge, warm demeanor, and leadership skills ensure every trip is safe, memorable, and inspiring.
In his free time, he enjoys football — both watching and playing—and listening to music. His friendly and relaxed nature puts guests immediately at ease, while his passion for conservation and storytelling makes each journey with him truly special.
